COVID-19: Employee Communication - Gagan Ahluwalia, CEO

Dallas, United States | March 27th, 2020

Dear members of the GlobalStep family,

In these difficult times, my thoughts are with you and your loved ones.  I am immensely proud of the selflessness, commitment, and steadfast calm that I have witnessed from our people during these uniquely challenging times.  I am very proud of you and very humbled to be the leader of people with such tremendous courage and character.

As a company we have set the following priorities:

  1. Health and Safety of our People:

This has been and will continue to be our first and foremost priority.  We are all navigating uncharted waters in terms of understanding the threat of COVID-19 and best response to it.  We have approached this grave health and safety issue with humility and have applied a simple moral compass to the challenge.

“Lead from the front and do not ask anyone to do anything you are not personally willing to do”

All our people have worked together with full trust in the application of this simple principle.  And this has allowed us to constantly adjust and evolve our actions to keep ahead of the curve in a fast changing situation.

  1. Serving our Clients and Ensuring their Business Continuity:

We have all worked together and done our utmost to support our clients in these difficult times.  Our concern for health and safety has turned out to be our biggest strength in ensuring continued support for our clients.  In every location we have been ahead of the curve and have been able to put Work from Home capability in place before government lockdowns were instituted. Our IT personnel, our managers, and so many of our people have worked with herculean focus and dedication to do in a matter of hours and days what would typically take weeks and months.  And this demonstration of selfless dedication is ongoing with long hours and little sleep for so many of our brave heroes enabling Work from Home.

Our focus now is to make sure that we deliver great value to our clients in these difficult times.  We must ensure that we have strong processes to do the work, to direct and manage the work, and to effectively communicate with our clients in the changed Work from Home environment.  Our constant commitment to Excellence in Service Delivery and continuous improvement must never falter even for an instant.

  1. Data Security and Confidentiality:

We must hold the trust that our clients have placed in us regarding Data Security and Confidentiality to be sacred and sacrosanct.  This requires us to be ever mindful of our policies and guidelines for data security and confidentiality, when working from home.  We will work with our clients to constantly evolve our practices to embody the best thinking in the world.  Policies are abstract.  What brings them to life is how well we understand them and the commitment with which we put them into practice.  As a collective, our data security is only as good as the weakest link in the chain.  So, it will take unrelenting focus from each one of us to deliver in full measure on the trust that our clients have placed in us.

  1. Maximize Employment:

Very soon we will transition from ensuring stability to focusing on growth.  This is an important responsibility for us. The COVID-19 pandemic is not only a health and safety disaster, but it is an economic threat to our communities.  We will actively engage with clients to seek opportunities to create value and maximize employment by fully leveraging our work from home infrastructure and processes.

I have asked our HR personnel in all locations globally to connect with all our people and to be aware of the well-being of each and every one of us.  This is motivated, not by any business or economic objectives, but rather by a very simple human principle of caring.  When we care about people, we want to know about their well-being.  And it will personally give me great comfort to know how each and every one of us is doing.

My best wishes, thoughts and prayers are with each of you and all your loved ones.

With my very best regards,
